Development Supervisor - Solar Projects

Description

• Originate new development opportunities and assess site feasibility, including environmental and grid connection considerations
• Negotiate land lease or purchase agreements with landowners under favorable conditions
• Engage with neighbors and local associations to secure consent and support
• Manage permitting processes across local, prefectural, and across the country
• Coordinate with subcontractors to complete surveys, FDP, EIA, and other permit-related work
• Develop project budgets and financial models to ensure cost-effective execution
• Collaborate closely with the technical team to ensure project feasibility and alignment with technical requirements
• Bring projects to Ready to Build (RTB) status within expected timelines
• Stay informed on solar technology trends and regulatory developments

• Project development experience, preferably in renewable energy (solar focus a plus)
• Strong understanding of Japanese permitting processes and METI procedures
• Experience negotiating with landowners and coordinating with local authorities
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across teams
• Driver's license required
• Japanese and business-level English
• Strong financial acumen, including project budgeting and modeling skills
