Reporting to the SCM Director the BD Strategic Logistics Senior Manager will be passionate about working with the Warehousing and Transportation Teams to create a culture of operational and customer excellence implementing change and driving Continuous Improvement （CI） across the Japan order fulfillment network through BD Excellence.

This strong operational excellence and continuous improvement identity will be created through the systematic application of LEAN production and CI principles methodologies and associated tools to ensure sustainable optimization of performance in the areas of delivery performance visibility logistics data management cost and 3PL management.

II. Main Responsibilities
1. Key tasks and strategic accountability:

The majority of time to be spent in the warehouse and transportation environment directly developing capabilities.
Cost to Win （CTW） initiative. Focuses primarily on initiatives to improve operational performance. Ensures all warehouses have 3 year funnel delivering required impact annually in CI. Mentors/coaches warehouse supervisors and logistics data engineers. This position works closely with SCM managers finance category managers and other CTW leadership to ensure CTW savings are realized.
Works closely with the SCM Managers to support the development and implementation of the improvement strategy for their BD Excellence Maturity.
Help shape and deploy BD Excellence roadmap coordinate and/or lead specific breakthrough Kaizen events and /or initiatives to achieve targeted performance improvement through the practical application of Lean Tools and Principles. Leverage Lean Academy as capability building mechanism to ensure consistent approach and development excellence.
Conducts periodic review of KPIs and actions for all warehouses. Will facilitate and coach logistics associates as required to ensure performance goals are achieved. On site coaching and assessments as required. Conducts Zero Loss Workshops as required.
Help shape and deploy the Logistics Digital Shift roadmap coordinate and/or lead specific requirement gathering events or workshops to understand current digital/reporting landscape.
Help shape the development and maintenance of Power BI reports and dashboards to provide insights into logistics data. Collaborate with TGS to ensure data accuracy and availability.
Develop and grow BD Excellence impact through deployment of progressively advanced aspects of component methodologies.
Serves as a champion to overcome barriers by addressing issues promptly. Does not hesitate to challenge the status quo in search of opportunities that help logistics provide cost effective solutions to the customer with full visibility of spend and performance to business leaders.

Accountable for the achievement of cost to win performance on operational efficiency for Logistics. Has a strong direct impact on strategy execution.
Accountable for the achievement of key operational goals including 3PL performance.
Will often lead project / initiative teams for the achievement of key operational goals including cost to win.
Erroneous decisions or recommendations may cause substantial expenditure of human capital and budgeted resources.
・ Financial Impact:

Has influence on the key drivers for profit loss and productivity.
Accountable to maintain and optimize loss landscape and multi year cost to win project pipeline.

III. Required skills and knowledge:

Technical Area of Expertise:

・ Demonstrates a specific and advanced set of skills in leading the application of one or more areas of Operational Excellence / LEAN production.
・ Demonstrates a specific and advanced set of skills in leading the application of Power BI for Logistics reporting.
・ Experience with digital transformations in Logistics. ex） Python Power BI Power Automate Copilot etc.
・ Demonstrates expertise in problem solving as well as training and coaching others.
・ Bachelor’s degree in engineering or bachelor’s degree in computer science
・ Previous experience in implementing and strong knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma business systems. Six sigma black belt certification preferred.
・ Demonstrated passion for customer centricity and operational excellence.
・ Demonstrates expertise logistics process ERP and WMS processing.
・ Demonstrates expertise 3PL management.
・ Excellent understanding of the interaction between operational excellence and customer service
・ Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills with people at all levels in Japanese and English
・ Strong track record in project or program management
・ Experience of working in a multi site and multi cultural environment
・ Experience of working in medical device industry preferred.
