募集要項

In 2017, our team discovered the potential for converting warm water into electricity during a visit to Iceland. Seeing the massive potential for geothermal applications, we founded Baseload Capital to fund geothermal projects worldwide.

In 2018 we established Baseload Power to develop and operate these projects. Today, we have power companies operating in Japan, Taiwan, the U.S., and Iceland, working towards our vision of a planet in balance. We are a team of eight in Japan, and 50+ colleagues worldwide.

Through a collaborative investment portfolio, we scale up clean, reliable energy worldwide.

Our Core Values: The Foundation of Our Work

  • Resilient: We adapt to ever-changing environments, take responsibility for our actions, and work hard to bring about a balanced planet.
  • Impactful: We stay clear on our goals, making thoughtful decisions, and ensuring every effort drives real change. Through teamwork and strong partnerships, we hold ourselves accountable and always get things done—making a difference where it counts.
  • Pioneers: We dive into new markets and income streams, never letting the risks of being first deter us from doing what we believe is right.

We're now looking to add a Senior Geothermal Geoscientist to our team at Baseload Power Japan, in Tokyo (Shinbashi Area).

You will be the pivot of BPJ’s sustainable development and utilization of geothermal resources and lead BPJ’s geoscience team. Your responsibilities will include exploration and monitoring planning, reservoir management and field development, as well as the supervision of the resources in the geoscience team.

Additionally, you will be responsible for budgeting, sourcing and leading the work of employees and external partners to ensure high-quality outcome.

  • Working collaboratively with geologists/geoscientists both within Baseload and with external consultancies or institutions, you will oversee contractor selection, service contract administration, scope of work, and the supervision and quality assurance of their work.
  • Assess geothermal resource potential through geological, geophysical and geochemical data analysis together with experts from Baseload Capital, Baseload Power Japan and relevant contractors.
  • Provide technical input for company strategies, project proposal and investor communication.
  • Manage integration of geological, geophysical and reservoir data into model for field development and resource management.
  • Lead teams of experts in targeting wells for exploration and development drilling.
  • Mine data existing drilling information, including temperature, pressure, flow tests, lithology, etc. from public sources such as NEDO reports and AIST Potential Database, as well as quasi-public past reports archived at AIST etc. and private reports obtained from business partners and landowners.
  • Lead the permitting work and ensure compliance with the local, regional and national regulations that governs geothermal resource use, as well as Baseload’s governance standards.
  • Manage relationship with land owners and contractors when preparing for field exploration and drilling operations, as well as in executions.
  • Carry out other geological assignments deemed appropriate and/or required.

This is you, described through our core values
