■Position Overview
As a Backend Engineer you will be responsible for the development and operation of high throughput backend services for user facing features related to LINE stickers emojis and themes.


■Job Details
You will lead the backend development and operation for LINE stickers emojis and themes.
This role involves developing scalable service architectures and storage solutions to support tens of millions of users and items.
You will design and maintain high availability services capable of handling over 200 000 RPS supporting LINE’s core functionality. By integrating application platforms within LINE and user facing features your work will directly contribute to creating business value.
These features are a key part of LINE's communication services and are used daily by millions of users in their interactions.

■Key Responsibilities
・ Lead backend microservice development for user facing features.
・ Design architecture that enhances efficiency and flexibility.
・ Develop and design high throughput services with high availability reliability and fault tolerance.
・ Guide team members on best practices for software implementation and operation.
・ Collaborate with other teams to ensure high quality implementation through active participation in code reviews and design reviews.

▼必要な経験/スキル
・サーバーサイドアプリケーション開発の経験（5年以上）
・MySQL、Redis、MongoDB、Kafka、HBaseなどのスケーラブルなデータストレージ技術の知識と経験
基本的なコンピュータサイエンスの知識
・日本語または英語でのビジネスレベルの会話力
・英語でのビジネスレベルの文書理解および作成能力

▼あると望ましい経験/スキル
・高トラフィック環境におけるサーバーアプリケーション及びデータベースの設計、開発経験
・JVMのチューニング、モニタリングの知識
・開発チームのマネジメント・コーチングの経験
・マイクロサービスアーキテクチャの経験
・Kubernetes上で稼働するアプリケーションの開発経験

■Required Skills/Experience
・ 5+ years of experience in server side application development.
・ Knowledge and experience with scalable data storage technologies such as MySQL Redis MongoDB Kafka and HBase.
・ Fundamental knowledge of computer science.
・ Business level proficiency in either Japanese or English （spoken and written）.

■Preferred Skills/Experience
・ Experience designing and developing server applications and databases in high traffic environments.
・ Knowledge of JVM tuning and monitoring.
・ Experience in managing and coaching development teams.
・ Familiarity with microservice architecture.
・ Experience developing applications on Kubernetes.
