Job Summary:
The Quantity Surveyor (QS) Engineer will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. This includes cost estimation, cost control, contract management, and procurement. The QS Engineer will work closely with project managers, architects, and clients to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cost Estimation and Planning:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for various stages of the project.
Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses.
Develop budgets and monitor expenditures.
2. Contract Management:
Prepare, negotiate, and analyse contracts and procurement agreements.
Ensure all contracts comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
Manage contract changes and variations.
Cost Control and Reporting:
Monitor project costs and expenditures.
Prepare regular financial reports and forecasts.
Conduct cost analysis and recommend cost-saving measures.
3. Procurement:
Identify and source materials and services.
Evaluate supplier and subcontractor bids.
Negotiate and manage supplier and subcontractor contracts.
4. Risk Management:
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
5. Project Coordination:
Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients.
Attend project meetings and provide financial and contractual advice.
Assist in project scheduling and resource planning.
6. Documentation and Records:
Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and project documents.
Prepare detailed reports and documentation for audits and reviews.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Experience:
Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
An ideal candidate should have an overall Industrial Project/Factory Building project.
Experience with large-scale construction projects in India is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in cost estimation and quantity takeoff software (e.g., AutoCAD, Office 365).
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
Knowledge of contract law and construction contracts (e.g., FIDIC).

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Other Requirements:
Willingness to travel to various project sites.
Fluency in English and Hindi; knowledge of regional languages is a plus.

Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).
Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Familiarity with building codes and standards in India.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
