Data Engineer

Our client is seeking a Data engineer who will work closely within Overseas team and local member. Whilst our teams will continue to work remotely, this role is based out of the Tokyo office, but offers a flexible working policy

Description

- Help to define and improve our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale data infrastructure.
- Expand our data warehouse with clean data ready for analysis.
- Work together with our data engineers and data analysts to define guardrails to build an environment which enables data democratization to enable organizational insights.
- Communicate recommendations back to the business effectively and efficiently.
- Small analytics project delivery including initiation, planning, scope, budget and change request management.
- Maintaining regular communications with active project teams and business stakeholders to ensure necessary and appropriate steps are taken to resolve issues and risks.
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.

* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Track record with SQL (Python/R would be a bonus!) to drive business insights
* Comfortable working with Git and the command line
* Experience with Snowflake, dbt and Tableau would be advantageous
* Clear and direct communication skills about complex, technical topics
* A problem solver with an analytical mind and a thirst for understanding
* A team player who enjoys working in an agile collaborative environment
* Willingness to travel as required, and mobility is an advantage
