Legal & Compliance Manager - Fintech/Payment Industry

Company Profile

• A well-known fintech company offering services in Payment - focuses their business in Japan, and backed by a global Payment company.

The Role

• Offer legal guidance to internal teams to assist in business operations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts.
• Oversee permits and licenses as required by the Installment Sales Law, while maintaining connections with relevant governmental bodies.
• Create and submit both routine and ad-hoc reports to authorities, industry associations, and other relevant entities.
• Establish and update internal procedures for AML, monitor transactions, and handle reports on suspicious activities.
• Perform regular internal audits and handle government inspections throughout the year.
• Facilitate compliance training programs within the organization.
• Assist with various legal and compliance-related initiatives as necessary.

Your Skills

Required:

• 3+ years of Legal experience
• Legal educational background
• Ability to draft, review, and negotiate contracts in both Japanese and English

Preferred:

• Compliance experience from the Financial Services industry
• Bar qualification(s) from any jurisdictions
