【大阪勤務】 Health and Safety Officer/EHS - OSAKA WORLD EXPO 2025

Job Overview: 
GL Events is seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Officer to oversee and manage all health and safety aspects at the Osaka Expo 2025 site. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying risks, implementing safety protocols, and ensuring compliance with local and international health and safety standards. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Health and Safety Management: 

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures specific to the Osaka Expo 2025 site. 
• Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions. 
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, standards, and guidelines. 

Site Monitoring and Reporting: 

• Monitor daily site operations to ensure adherence to health and safety protocols. 
• Investigate and report on all accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring that root causes are identified and preventive measures are implemented. 
• Maintain accurate records of all health and safety activities, including audits, inspections, and training sessions. 

Training and Awareness: 

• Organize and deliver health and safety training programs for all site personnel, including employees, contractors, and visitors. 
• Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement across the site. 
• Ensure that all personnel are aware of emergency procedures and protocols. 

Emergency Preparedness: 

• Develop and implement emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, first aid, and incident management. 
• Coordinate with local emergency services and ensure effective communication and collaboration in case of an emergency. 

Stakeholder Collaboration: 

• Work closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that health and safety considerations are integrated into all aspects of the project. 
• Liaise with local authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements. 

Continuous Improvement: 

• Identify opportunities for improving health and safety practices on site and implement best practices. 
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements in health and safety management. 

Qualifications and Experience: 

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. 
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in large-scale construction or event management projects. 
• Strong knowledge of local and international health and safety regulations and standards. 
• Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent are highly desirable. 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams. 
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of Japanese is an advantage. 
• Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations with professionalism. 

Work Conditions: 

• On-site presence at the Osaka Expo 2025 site is required. 
• This role may involve working irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, depending on the project schedule. 
• Must be able to travel as required for site inspections, meetings, and training.
