Project Development (Senior) Manager

Ecoplexus, a global renewable energy, battery storage, and green hydrogen developer & independent power producer, seeks a project development manager to support our Japanese project development activities.  

Your role is a critical component of Ecoplexus's business in Japan.  Responsibilities include: 

• Manage site assessment, site control, and acquisition efforts for land and potentially other facilities to host battery energy storage system and other renewable energy system installation.  Specific duties include prospecting, site identification and assessment, information gathering with local government, viability analysis, outreach and property owner relationship building and relationship management.
• Develop targeting strategy to secure suitable land for battery energy storage system and renewable energy projects in collaboration with management, internal staff, and external consultants.
• Develop business plan, financial plan of battery energy storage system  and detailed economic, financial, and risk　analysis on potential and committed projects in collaboration with management, internal staff, and external consultants. 
•    Perform the project development Collaborating with origination team, technical, legal, and financial persons including external consultants in order to realize FID of battery energy storage system . 
• Establish targeting strategy to secure additional projects and suitable areas for battery energy storage systems  in collaboration with management, internal staff, and external consultants.
• Report on market conditions and create compelling market analysis presentations for the relevant committees of METI, OCCTO and other relative governmental authorities. 
• Manage and maintain data rooms, project summary and tracking tools, and project files.
• Compile and maintain project development update reports as required by management. 
• Other development and support activities as may be required by the Company. 

Qualifications:  

• Strong understanding of prefectural and local permitting regulations and requirements
• Knowledge of the Japanese renewable energy market a plus
• Ability to work independently and creatively solve problems 
• High level of professionalism with attention to detail
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills 
• Superior time management and interpersonal skills
• Fluency in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint
