Company Profile

  • A medical communications and marketing agency who support a wide range of pharmaceutical, medical device, and healthcare businesses by providing publications, regulatory articles, webinars, and events; all produced by an in-house team. The company have an established presence and relationships in the Japan market and are the subsidiary of a larger corporation, but have autonomy and their own strategic / decision making capabilities.

The Role

  • You will be responsible for driving new business development activities and will be able to build upon the foundations that have been laid over the past three-to-four years.
  • Typically, you will be building relationships and networking with senior Marketing & Communications professionals within pharmaceutical, healthcare, and medical device companies to promote the company's range of solutions that help healthcare professionals to improve their patients' experience by improving the sharing of knowledge across the industry.
  • In addition, this role will see you lead the Japan operations and can also be considered a 'Head of Japan Operations' type role - you'll be leading a team of 10 people.

Your Skills

  • Fluent Japanese (minimum N1, ideally Native) and business English skills are must, as your customers will often be senior Japanese professionals, and you will also have to work with international teams.
  • A strong New Business Development background (not just account management), providing solutions to the pharmaceutical, medical device, biotech, and healthcare sectors will be critical for this role.
  • We can consider people who have sold a range of products/services to the sector - if you have experience of selling any solutions to these industries, we'd like to hear from you!
