Head – D&ME, DS and IP

【Main Purpose of Job (Why job exists/what it must achieve)】

• Leading the Design & Mould Engineering, Design Studio and IP function to contribute towards achieving organizational objectives and growth targets by way of supporting the product development/OEM functions in developing superior products / technology for timely market introduction, new concepts and protecting the IP rights.

【Main Responsibilities / Job Summary】

• Leading the team of designers, mould engineers and technologists to design and develop products for  competency centres in TBR, PV,OHT , 2W & TBB categories.

• Generate Innovative product concepts with superior functionality and aesthetics through design projects.

• Support Competency centres with value engineering ideas and help in implementation.

• Support Market functions/Technical services in Market communication/customer education and business growth activities.

• Collaborate with Indian and overseas design centres and universities on new concept development projects.

• Provide support in IP creation through securing inventions at R&D, ensuring freedom to operate (FTO) to provide business continuity to markets for new products. Assist to scout technology to meet R&D project requirements through technology Landscaping.

• Human resource development in department, subordinate development and career planning.

• Recruit, Train and induct Designers and Mould engineers for timely development of products & moulds.

• Develop mould suppliers for adequate supply of moulds in time and work with mould partners to develop new technologies to meet the latest product requirements.

• Contribute to developing Global R&D Asia organization.

Meeting product design/development targets, Meeting Design studio targets in creating new concepts and customer centric designs, Securing IP in R&D and ensuring FTO for business continuity, Developing Human resource, Training and job enrichment of team members, Technology upgrading and value engineering activities.
