Japan-qualified Legal Counsel - International Healthcare

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal professional to join an established team and develop at a leading healthcare company. As well as offering a wide range of legal work, there are genuine opportunities to progress into more senior roles within the company in future.

The main responsibilities for this role are:

• Negotiating, drafting and reviewing a range of complex commercial and corporate contracts and agreements, with the support of the Head of Legal
• Assuring compliance with relevant corporate regulations and, with assistance from the Head of Legal, assessing risks to achieving contract approval
• Proactively develop new approaches to contracting requirements and obligations
• Developing and improving the company's template agreements and templates to streamline processes and improve efficiency
• Working as a business partner to help identify potential risk and advise on opportunities for commercial growth
• Informing business partners on key commercial, legal, corporate policy 
• Support and promote compliance projects and investigations

The required skills and experience for this role are:

• At least 7 years' experience in a legal department or at a law firm
• Previous company experience not required - ideal for a first-time move in-house
• Attorney qualification in Japan 
• Healthcare sector experience or knowledge of relevant industry laws is an advantage but not a requirement
• Experience of handling complex legal issues and transactions
• Native level Japanese with excellent communication skills in English
