Data Center Engineer

Job Description
BiOS is looking for a Data Center Engineer / Operator to work for a global bank in Tokyo.
This is a great opportunity for those who have experience working as a data center engineer and would like to take your experience further at fast-paced and international atmosphere.
 
Responsibilities

・ Install, move, add, and change (IMAC) server and other hardware in data center

・ Coordinate with local vendors regarding technical support of network and server

・ Provide both scheduled and unscheduled troubleshooting support

・ Manage hardware assets on-site. Coordinate schedules of product shipping and receipt

・ Escorting vendors and visitors inside the data center

・ Report operation scopes weekly and monthly

・ Other ad-hoc tasks when requested by the client

・ Manage backup tapes and internal file transfers

・ Rack & Stack small devices, Escort & basic patching(DCF Smart hands)

Work Hours:

24X7 Shift based

Shift 1: Start Time (09:00) End Time (18:00)

Shift 2: Start Time (09:00) End Time (21:00)

Shift 3: Start Time (18:00) End Time (06:00)

Shift 4: Start Time (21:00) End Time (09:00)

Break Times are ( 60 ) minutes per shift

*Core working hours may vary in accordance with onsite operations.

*Based on an average of 164 working hours per month.

Required Skills:

• Team player, Flexible to work under 24/7/365 shift assignment
• Strong bilingual communication and coordination skills with clients, vendors, and internal staffs over the phone, email, and face to face
• Experience working in IT, or motivation for data center or equivalent preferred (i.e. server room).

Desired Skills:

• 2 to 3 years of experience as an IT engineer (Dc remote hands, Pc, server, network, IT asset management, etc.) preferred
• Technical skills and knowledge of HP, Dell, Citrix, and Sun servers preferred

Required Languages:

English: Business level

Japanese: High Conversation (JLPT3) ~ Business level (JLPT2) is preferred
