We are seeking an Accounting Manager to join our Accounting Department and will be responsible for the Accounting Department at the Banco do Brasil, Japan Branch.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage, analyze, and review all returns submitted to local regulators.
• Responsible for all accounting related tasks.
• Handle tasks related to local regulatory reporting and ensure accuracy in financial statements.
• Develop and implement efficiencies in the regulatory return reporting process.
• Support the preparation of tax returns in collaboration with external tax accountants.
• Lead and manage the team’s workflow, ensuring that all reports and submissions meet internal standards.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors, as well as relevant regulatory authorities.
• Support business initiatives and provide regulatory compliance insights.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting manager in banking institution for both foreign/domestic bank.
• Strong knowledge of Japan GAAP and IFRS accounting treatments, with a focus on financial products.
• Previous experience handling regulatory requests and working with accounting auditors.
• Proficiency in IT systems, including accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
• A team player and good capability of people management for all member of the team, and capable of working independently when required.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English.
• CPA, tax accountant, or Nissho Bookkeeping Level 1 or 2 certification is preferred.
