Description

• Formulate and implement business operational strategies with a focus on Japanese equities.
• Establish and review policies ensuring they are in line with overall strategy and Japanese equities market regulations.
• Design and oversee efficient processes and standards specifically tailored for the operations of Japanese stocks.
• Ensure the smooth running of the day-to-day operations department, prioritizing the handling and understanding of Japanese stock transactions.
• Maintain a rigorous compliance framework to adhere to Japanese securities regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key Japanese market stakeholders, including exchanges, clearinghouses, and financial institutions.
• Report on operational performance with a focus on Japanese equities and suggest improvements based on market trends and regulations.
• Remain informed about the Japanese equities market to proactively adjust operational strategies.
• Undertake any other responsibilities deemed appropriate and necessary by the company, with particular attention to the nuances of the Japanese financial market.

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field with a strong understanding of Japanese financial markets.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in operations, settlements, clearing, and custody within a brokerage firm that has a strong focus on Japanese equities trading.
• At least 5 years in a management capacity directly handling Japanese stocks within a broker-dealer, or equivalent environment.
• An effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills; a leader with proficient time management, inclusive behaviors, and a firm belief in people development.
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Japanese, with the ability to navigate business and financial terminology pertinent to the Japanese market.
• Deep knowledge of Japanese equities market structure, regulations, and key players.
• Proven track record in leading operations and managing cross-cultural teams in an international setting.
