COMPANY OVERVIEW
A global insurance company is seeking an Underwriter, Property in its insurance team in Düsseldorf.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contribution to profitability growth of the company’s portfolio by underwriting, and managing business of industrial and commercial property.   

• Managing existing relationships with clients and brokers while also developing new business opportunities.

• Analyse individual account risk and ensure an appropriate pricing approach as well as proper utilization of capacities, ensuring business is conducted in accordance with the company’s philosophy and underwriting strategy.

• Perform contract negotiation, attending and travelling to client meetings, presentations to customers and conducting underwriting reviews.

• Ensure compliance with relevant underwriting policy, legal and regulatory requirements.

• Develop and maintain strong and effective relationship with brokers, client and fronting partners in co-operation with other branch divisions as required.

   

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• University graduate with a degree in business or law or technical degree

• Alternatively, insurance business training, and/or further insurance or technical education

• Min. 5 years of relevant professional experience in insurance industry, particularly in Property 

• Familiarity with risk assessment, analytics, pricing, underwriting, capital use and contract issues

• Strong communication skills and preference to work in multi-cultural environment

• Willingness to travel and flexibility with respect to work schedule

• Language: Fluency in German and English
