Job Overview:
The individual will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations, promoting a strong safety culture, and implementing ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 standards across company projects. The role requires expertise in environmental management, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance to maintain workplace safety and sustainability.
Job Responsibilities:
Safety & Health Compliance:
- Ensure workplace compliance with ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) and local safety regulations.
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments at project sites.
- Investigate incidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor and implement Permit to Work (PTW), LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), and PPE compliance.
- Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Emergency Response Plans.
Environmental Management:
- Implement and maintain the ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System).
- Monitor environmental aspects, including waste management, water conservation, and pollution control.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead sustainability initiatives such as energy efficiency, carbon footprint reduction, and green construction practices.
Training & Awareness:
- Develop and conduct safety and environmental training programs for employees and subcontractors.
- Organize workshops on hazard identification, risk assessment, and emergency preparedness.
- Promote Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) and Safety Observation Reports (SORS).
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain safety and environmental records, audit reports, and compliance documentation.
- Prepare monthly reports on safety performance indicators, environmental compliance, and accident statistics.
- Assist in external audits and certification processes for ISO 14001 & 45001.
Coordination & Implementation:
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate safety and environmental best practices.
- compliance updates.
- Support management in implementing continuous improvement initiatives in HSE performance.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
7-10 years’ experience in safety & environmental management, preferably in construction or industrial projects
Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 implementation.
Proficiency in HIRA (Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment).
NEBOSH IGC, OSHA, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor preferred
Excellent communication, training, and reporting skills.
