Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with proficiency in DB2/400 database administration. In this role, you will be responsible for the management, maintenance, and optimization of DB2/400 databases, ensuring smooth operations and high availability. The ideal candidate will have experience with data migration, transformation, SQL, and stored procedures on the AS/400 platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Administration: Manage and maintain DB2/400 databases, ensuring performance, security, and reliability.
  • Data Migration & Transformation: Lead data migration and transformation efforts, ensuring smooth data transfer and integration across systems.
  • SQL & Stored Procedures: Write and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures to ensure efficient data handling and system performance on AS/400.
  • Database Optimization: Perform regular database tuning to optimize performance and minimize downtime.
  • Backup and Recovery: Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely resolutions to minimize disruptions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including developers and project managers, to ensure seamless integration and functionality of database systems.

Required Skills

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in DB2/400 database administration, including performance tuning, backup/recovery, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with data migration and transformation processes.
  • Solid understanding of SQL and stored procedures in an AS/400 environment.
  • N3-level Japanese proficiency is required to communicate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a bilingual team environment.
