Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled AS/400 System Administrator with expertise in the IBM i (AS400) platform to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in system administration, including expertise in CL (Control Language), RPG (Report Program Generator), and COBOL. As part of a dynamic, bilingual team, you will be responsible for the management, tuning, and maintenance of AS/400 systems, ensuring their efficiency and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Administration: Manage and maintain the AS/400 (IBM i) platform to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Programming Support: Work with programming languages including CL, RPG, and COBOL to support system operations and troubleshoot issues.
  • System Tuning: Perform system tuning and optimization to enhance performance and reliability of the AS/400 platform.
  • Backup Management: Oversee system backups and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor system performance, resolve system issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to support enterprise applications and resolve complex system problems.

Required Skills

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in the IBM i (AS400) platform.
  • Strong working knowledge of CL (Control Language), RPG (Report Program Generator), and COBOL.
  • Experience in system tuning, backups, and overall system administration.
  • A strong N3-level proficiency in Japanese is required for communication within the team and with stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with system troubleshooting and performance optimization techniques.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a bilingual, cross-functional team.
  • Solid understanding of security best practices and data management principles.
