Our client, a strong player in the Gas and Energy sector, is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to build and lead a team of junior Legal staff.
Role:
• Drafting, reviewing, and assisting in the execution of contracts such as Sales & Purchase, Derivative Transactions based on ISDA agreements, Time Charter Party agreements
• Collaborate with other departments and provide advice on contractual, financial, and commercial risks
• Develop Legal strategies and solutions through research of laws and regulations
• Understand and mitigate risks based on the nature of business
• Assist in the management of disputes including litigation and arbitration
• Conduct relevant trainings to Traders and Operators
• Preparation of necessary internal documents such as KYC, invoices, etc
• Lead and guide the junior Legal staff
• Work with and supervise external counsels
• Any ad-hoc assignments required
Requirements:
• Possesses a Bachelor of Laws minimally
• Singapore Bar admission with at least 8 years PQE will be an advantage
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar industry handling Gas/Energy trading contracts
• Strong skill in drafting and negotiating contracts
• Willingness to be hands-on in contract and invoicing management
• Respectful, honest, and possess integrity
