About the job
The Research Engineer will work under the Senior Researcher on a collaborative research project with a university in Singapore. In this project, the Research Engineer will be involved in the development of a robotics- related platform and will also conduct tests by bringing the robot to construction sites and handling on-site debugging.
Job Responsibilities:
Contributing to the development of robotics-related platforms, ensuring alignment with project goals and specifications.
Creating comprehensive test cases to evaluate platforms functionality and performance.
Conducting acceptance testing of programs developed by the university to ensure they meet project specifications and standards.
Assessing the compatibility of robotics-related platforms with construction robots in the market to ensure smooth integration and operational efficiency.
Developing and testing the adapter for industrial construction robots leveraging open-RMF
Conducting field tests by deploying robots and the platform at construction sites to evaluate performance and functionality.
Performing on-site debugging and troubleshooting to address any issues that arise during testing.
Documenting research findings and contributing to project reports and presentations.
Defining and managing the detailed project specifications and requirements.
Assisting in the planning and execution of robotics-related events, including support for coordination, logistics, and on-site management.
Supporting for the formulation of strategies for the commercialization of research results and business initiatives in the field of construction robotics.
Other related tasks as required by job role.
Minimum Qualification:
Master’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering related field.
2-5 years work experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Experience with Ubuntu, docker, ROS2
Coding in C++, Python
Project management experience
Coding in JavaScript, TypeScript
Experience with Gazebo/Isaac Sim
Knowledge in data base / edge computing / front-end
Construction industry experience
BIM tools
