Job Description

This position will be responsible for overseeing departmental governance, preparing committee and management reports, coordinating audit planning, ensuring compliance with audit methodology, monitoring operational metrics, and conducting quality assurance reviews.

Description

  • Maintain and update internal audit manuals, policies, and operational documents.
  • Lead and coordinate activities like audit planning, risk assessments, and quality assurance reviews.
  • Prepare reports for committees and management, including the Audit Committee and Board of Directors.
  • Monitor and analyze operational metrics such as audit progress, issue status, and coverage of the audit universe.
  • Coordinate competency assessments and training programs with the corporate team.
  • Prepare the department's expense and headcount budgets.
  • Collaborate with the corporate team on changes to audit methodologies and planning processes.
  • Manage inspections and surveys by regulatory authorities like the FSA.
  • Oversee departmental procurement processes, including vendor agreements.
  • Leverage data analytics for operational metrics and reporting.

Required Skills

A successful Audit Manager should have:

  • An academic background in finance, business, or a related field
  • Experience in Audit, Risk management and Compliance within the insurance industry
  • Strong leadership and project management skills
  • A solid understanding of audit methodologies and regulatory requirements
  • CIA, CISA or CPA certificate would be beneficial
