Job Description

As a Demand & Supply Planner, your primary role involves managing and coordinating product demand and supply within the life science industry. This includes forecasting, inventory management, and ensuring smooth production cycles.

They are known for their innovative approaches to problem-solving, ensuring their products consistently meet high-quality standards. Located in Osaka/ Tokyo, they're looking to expand their procurement and supply chain department.

Description

  • Plan demand/supply and steer performance, including but not limited to forecast accuracy and forecast bias, as well as escalate risks for decision making.
  • Drive Demand Review meeting and facilitate effective communication between sales, marketing, finance and supply chain, aligning market insights with the overall business strategy, ensuring that demand planning activities are in sync with customer needs for the short term.
  • Create scenario planning for most relevant product for short term. Align and assess costs and impact with E2E supply network Manager.
  • Supply planning for CMOs, in licensed supplier.
  • Main stakeholder of product teams (supply agent) to understand supply situation and to communicate forecast/market changes on the short term when needed.
  • Management of risk of obsolescence/ potential write-off in alignment with commercial.
  • Represent country in regional S&OP meetings by providing input on key performance metrics, root cause analysis and financial reconciliation.
  • Lead supply chain related launch and to ensure the correct and timely implementation of change applications on finished goods, with the possibility of splitting supply agent and change management activities based on product networks/organization.
  • Support bottleneck management, including but not limited to analyzing country demand, defining allocations together with commercial, aligning recommendations with regional supply chain, CMOs and licensed supplier to overseeing execution of agreed measures.
  • Build-up and maintain in-depth understanding of demand planning techniques and trends to fuel continuous improvement.

Required Skills

A successful Demand & Supply Planner should have:

  • 7+ years life sciences experience gained at a leading multi- national company is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of demand/supply planning processes including CMO management experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of business and finance acumen
  • Experience in dealing with global teams and global projects
  • Proven track record of driving performance.
  • Solid understanding of commercial operations in a life sciences context.
  • Outstanding analytical skills and ability to analyze big data.
  • Confident and enthusiastic, effective communication and negotiation skills, capable to handle stressful situations.
  • Languages: Fluent Japanese, Business level of English (able to interact with global colleagues and work on global project), Japanese (N1) or above for non- Japanese candidates
  • University degree or above
