System Engineer

Position Summary:

OIST IT uses a hybrid approach of on-premises servers, Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services to provide business services to its stakeholders. As a member of the Operation and Support Section, you will support and maintain our on-premises and cloud-based systems to provide secure, scalable, and stable services to drive the OIST business forward.
As part of your main responsibilities, you will maintain and troubleshoot server systems and services, making sure they are secure, available, and follow industry best practices. Your responsibilities will include knowledge sharing within your team.
As a successful candidate, you should show good working knowledge of virtualization, Windows server technologies, and work experience with Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services.

Responsibilities:

1. Maintain and support existing mission critical Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange hybrid environment, and Microsoft Hyper-V and cluster environment in production
2. Maintain and support in-house Identity Management System
3. Handle day-to-day operations of existing on-premises and cloud-based systems, including;
   (i)     Infrastructure Monitoring
   (ii)    Patch management
   (iii)   Backup and Restore
   (iv)   Handling tickets and user support
   (v)    Troubleshooting
   (vi)   House keeping
4. Work with infrastructure level 2 to resolve production incidents
5. Regularly review existing systems and make recommendations for improvements
6. Engage infrastructure project
7. Support and collaborate with Information Security Section

(Required)

1. 3+ years of solid working experience managing on-perm Microsoft Infrastructure environment including Active Directory and Hyper-V cluster
2. Solid working experience of managing physical hardware including physical server and SAN-based storage
3. Advance PowerShell scripting skills
4. Experience with ITIL best practice explicitly on incident management, problem management and change management respectively
5. Extensive infrastructure troubleshooting skills
6. Self-starter and able to work independently with minimum supervision
7. As part of multiple-tier infrastructure team
8. Interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with various technical abilities in a multicultural, multilingual environment
9. Fluent English (TOEIC 700+ or an equivalent)

1. A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
2. Experience with configuration and administration of Microsoft Office365 including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online and others
3. Experience with configuration and maintenance of on-perm Microsoft Exchange
4. Experience with Microsoft SQL database administration
5. Experience with Microsoft System Center Productions including Operations Manager, Data Protection Manager, Orchestrator
6. Experience with Azure AD/Entra ID, Azure Enterprise Application
7. Experience with Intune and SCCM
8. Good understanding of Public Key Infrastructure and industry best practices
9. Experience with Identity Management System
10. Any Microsoft infrastructure certification and/or ITIL foundation certification
