Job Summary:
Job Title: Network System Administrator
Location: Bidadi – Rental Plant
Department: IT / Plant Operations
The Network System Administrator will be responsible for managing the IT network
infrastructure within an automotive manufacturing plant. This includes maintaining and
optimizing plant-specific network systems and all IT Equipment’s, ensuring reliable
connectivity across production lines, and implementing robust network security
measures. Support the plant’s automation systems, manage industrial networks (such
as Ethernet/IP), and collaborate with the production and maintenance teams to ensure
minimal downtime and maximum eOiciency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Network Infrastructure Management:
o Design, deploy, and manage the plant's network infrastructure, including
LAN, WAN, and industrial network systems.
o Monitor network performance and implement improvements to support
the plant’s production systems, including automated machinery and
robotics.
o Configure and maintain network devices such as switches, routers,
firewalls, and wireless access points.
o Ensure the seamless integration of network systems with the plant’s
production and control systems.
2. System Administration:
o Maintain and manage servers, virtualization environments (e.g., VMware,
Hyper-V), and storage systems that support production line systems.
o Ensure robust data backup and disaster recovery plans, particularly for
critical production systems.
o Administer network security measures such as firewalls, VPNs, and
intrusion detection systems.
3. Production Line Support:
o Collaborate with plant engineers to ensure IT systems support automated
manufacturing processes (PLC systems, SCADA systems, etc.).
o Provide technical support to resolve network-related issues that impact
production systems or cause downtime.
o Maintain real-time monitoring systems for production lines, ensuring
network connectivity and performance for automated and robotic
equipment.
4. Security and Compliance:
o Implement network security policies, particularly focused on securing
production systems and critical plant operations.
o Monitor for potential cyber threats and vulnerabilities, and respond to any
security incidents that may aOect production.
o Ensure compliance with industry regulations, automotive standards
(ISO/TS 16949, IATF 16949), and cybersecurity protocols.
5. Industrial Automation Networks:
o Manage and support industrial automation networks, ensuring
communication between devices like PLCs, HMIs, and other control
equipment.
o Monitor and troubleshoot network-related issues within automation
systems that could aOect production eOiciency or cause breakdowns.
6. Collaboration and Support:
o Work closely with plant engineers, automation specialists, and
maintenance teams to ensure all network systems are optimized for
production.
o Coordinate with corporate IT teams to ensure alignment between plant
network systems and corporate standards.
o Provide end-user support for IT-related issues within the plant, including
troubleshooting network connectivity problems for production and oOice
staO.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or
related field.
• Certifications: Preferred(Not Mandatory)
o Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
o Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MSCA)
o CompTIA Network+
• Experience:
o 7+ years of experience in network administration, preferably within a
manufacturing or industrial setting.
o 2+ years of experience in system administration.
o Hands-on experience with industrial networking protocols and systems.
o Familiarity with automation technologies used in automotive
manufacturing.
o Knowledge of IT-OT (Information Technology - Operational Technology)
integration.
