Job Description

Financial Accounting Manager (General Ledger)

A rapidly growing MNC in Batu Kawan is looking for Financial Accounting Manager (General Ledger) to be part of their team. You will be a key part of helping the business to oversee functional financial accounting activities, including the review of journal entries and financial reporting.

Main responsibilities of the Financial Accounting Manager (General Ledger) role  
  • Oversee functional financial accounting activities, including the review of journal entries and financial reporting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly close processes and day-to-day operations for global entities in compliance with US GAAP, while maintaining statutory financials.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls, ensuring compliance with GAAP and applicable international and local financial and tax regulations.
  • Ensure SOX compliance by adhering to internal control requirements, updating documentation, and providing recommendations as needed.
  • Identify and mitigate risks or potential fraud by implementing proper controls and solutions.
  • Lead process improvement, automation, standardization initiatives, and other assigned projects or tasks.
  • Engage proactively with partners to resolve challenges and recommend improvements where necessary.
  • Coach and mentor team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Foster cooperative and productive working relationships within the team.
  • Set plans and objectives for both the functional group and the Global Finance Center of Excellence at the organizational level.
 
Key requirements
  • Qualified accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with a degree in Finance/Accounting.
  • Over 10 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, and Reporting, preferably in the high-tech industry.
  • More than 5 years in a leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and local country accounting standards.
  • Strong team player with experience in dynamic organizations and a proven ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to challenge the status quo when necessary.
  • Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of business principles and practices.
  • Ability to explain financial matters clearly to non-financial personnel.
  • Demonstrate a strong customer service focus to both internal and external stakeholders, including audit and statutory engagements.
