Responsibilities:

• Oversee month-end closing process and manage team for accurate and compliant accounts
• Complete all Group financial reporting requirements for Japan
• Ensure robust internal controls and enforce financial policies
• Maintain compliance with Japanese GAAP and IFRS standards
• Manage financial aspects of legal entities including audit, taxation, and insurance
• Oversee preparation of statutory accounts and improve accounting processes
• Meet regional reporting timetable and support business decisions
• Partner with FP&A teams across the region
• Manage core technical accounting and act as key contact for banking partners
• Provide financial reporting, internal control, and systems development for projects
• Maintain up-to-date records in general accounting
• Oversee AR and AP to ensure accurate reporting
• Prepare tax reporting and ensure compliance with Japanese requirements
• Lead financial closing process and reporting to the group
• Ensure correct bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow
• Monitor and guide outsourced accounting team to achieve relevant SLAs
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting and finance processes

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of relevant experience in an audit "Big Four," reporting, or finance controller role
• Knowledge of Japanese local regulations
• Advanced skills in MS Excel and good knowledge of Microsoft BI
• Experience in Sun 6 back-office is a plus
• Possess valid Accountancy qualifications (CPA or equivalent)
• Fluent level written and verbal Japanese and English
