[English only OK!] Full-stack Developer - Insurance Domain

Summary
Randstad is partnered with a global insurance firm, in their search for a "Full Stack Developer" for their Systems Engineering team. The team will lead the effort on developing a strategy to exit multiple existing applications on the mainframe environment, building new cloud-ready applications in an open source environment. Your role as a full-stack developer will be to support the design,
development, and deployment of web apps, mobile apps, and API of a prototype application to
be utilized as a Proof of Concept for the future migration of existing applications.You will
participate in each stage of development to ensure a successful delivery, including driving the
solution design, implement, testing, and supporting the deployment into production.

Responsibilities

• Implement, test, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot core business applications, including
• API & DB, optionally UI, API integration and mobile development
• Meet and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to establish project scope,
• system goals, and requirements
• Ensure code quality of development by regularly performing code reviews to follow best
• practices
• Create deployment procedures, monitor systems health, gather system statistics, and
• troubleshoot reported errors and alarms
• Implement best practices for scalability, reliability, maintainability, and performance

Must Have Skills

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology, or equivalent
• experience
• 5+ years of experience working with information technologies and software engineering
• Working knowledge of Java and ability to build batch applications from design
• documents in an open source environment
• Ability to support/troubleshoot an incident
• SQL
• Spring Boot
• Azure Batch, Azure Kubernetes, other Azure technologies

Good to Have Skills

• Ability to design and implement a solution from high level requirements
• Ability to understand a system from the source code
• Life Insurance Domain Knowledge 
• Thymeleaf, ReactJS, Bootstrap
• Certain amount of experience in HTML, CSS, JS
• Bilingual – English and Japanese
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Experience working with build automation and CI/CD tools, Azure CI/CD
• 5+ years of experience working with information technologies and software engineering
• COBOL knowledge – experience in mainframe systems development, testing and debugging
