As a software engineer in a global team, you will collaborate with the U.S. team to implement solutions tailored to local needs, supporting growth in the U.S. market. This position involves development integrated with Microsoft products, including Word, which are essential for contract-related work.
Microsoft has partnered with OpenAI to incorporate AI-driven innovations into business applications through tools like MS 365 Copilot. You will engage in development that connects with web services, providing user-friendly applications for customers by leveraging features such as Word Add-ins and MS 365 Copilot.
Specifically, you will be responsible for developing applications and services that utilize these features, ensuring they connect seamlessly with web service backends to deliver the best value of our products to customers. While prior experience in Office-related development is not mandatory, candidates with a broad range of development experience are encouraged to apply.
Fluency in spoken English is not required for global team communications; however, the ability to read English documents and communicate in writing is essential. Address the needs of various countries, including Japan and the U.S., while balancing efficiency and maintainability as a global product.
Responsibilities
You will be involved in the development and design of products aimed at the U.S. market, as well as conducting design and code reviews with other team members.
Development of the global AI contract review service's Word Add-in and MS 365 Copilot features.
Conducting design and code reviews for team members.
Enhancing team productivity and product quality through library development, automation, process improvement, and documentation.

Required Skills
Over 3 years of experience in client application development.
More than 2 years of experience in web application development or applications that integrate with the web.
Experience implementing solutions while researching new technologies.
Ability to clearly explain the rationale behind design decisions and document them.
English:
Ability to read technical documentation in English.
Japanese:
Speaking & Listening: Ability to engage in technical conversations with colleagues at a business level or higher. (Technical interviews will be conducted in Japanese.)
Reading: N2 level or higher.
Preferred Skills
Master's degree in a technical field or equivalent research experience.
MS Office-related skills:
Development of plugins for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience with MS Office file formats (Office OpenXML).
Experience with development using Visual Studio.
Programming:
Text processing programming.
Experience with programming for specific file formats.
Binary format analysis.
Web Development:
Experience in web development using Go, TypeScript, and React.
