Almost 20 years have passed since the birth of EC. It is obvious that the world has become a convenient place to purchase a wide variety of products over the Internet. The global EC growth rate has been increasing year by year at 15%/year, and is expected to increase by 22% to 3.53 trillion dollars (about 377 trillion yen) by 2011. In Japan, the growth rate is 6%/year, or about 20 trillion yen.

Compared to the global EC growth rate, Japan's growth rate is somewhat slower. What is the difference from the global EC growth rate? It is because we are not able to respond to cross-border EC. The global EC growth rate continues to grow in the cross-border EC field. In the case of Japan, there are many barriers that must be overcome in order to expand overseas, such as language barriers, logistics/delivery barriers, payment barriers, and branding barriers, causing Japan to lag behind.

The company aims to overcome these barriers and deliver high-quality Japanese products and services to the rest of the world.


【 Job Description】

You will lead the development of the service as a backend engineer for the "EC platform service for overseas users" developed in-house.

You will be a member of our development team and will be responsible for technical decision making in the back-end area, design reviews to ensure quality, productivity improvement, and recruiting activities.
*The final decision on where you will be assigned will be made after a casual interview and selection process, based on your preferences and match with the company.
*The company will provide details of the new service during the selection process.

You will be responsible for design, code ownership, and training of team members, including the back-end, as a lead engineer in the future as the company's "software engineer" ideal is to solve problems without being confined to a specific job function.

【Responsibilities】
・Back-end development of "EC platform service for overseas users
・Requirement definition ~ operation/test for new/existing function development
・Investigation of API linkage with external services - Development for data linkage
・Team development with offshore development partners
・Provide instructions to partners and assign roles and responsibilities
・Formulation of development rules (branching strategy, etc.)
