Job Description

Randstad is partnered with global insurance firm in their search for a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with a focus on Azure Cloud and Data Management tools. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the reliability, availability, and performance of mission-critical data systems, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Cosmos DB, and other cloud-native technologies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and scaling of data management tools, while improving system observability, automation, and incident response.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Cloud Infrastructure: Design, build, and manage resilient Azure infrastructure and services supporting large-scale data pipelines and systems.
  • Monitoring & Incident Response: Implement robust monitoring and alerting systems for data pipelines and Azure services. Respond to incidents and troubleshoot issues related to uptime, performance, and data availability.
  • Automation & Continuous Improvement: Automate repetitive tasks and create self-healing systems by implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or Azure Bicep.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, DevOps, and software developers to ensure smooth operation and reliability of data tools, optimizing performance and scalability.
  • Capacity Planning & Scaling: Monitor system capacity and performance metrics, adjusting resources for cost-effectiveness and ensuring systems can handle future growth and spikes in data flow.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement best practices for securing data pipelines and ensuring adherence to industry regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor, analyze, and improve system performance and availability by implementing caching strategies, load balancing, and other optimization techniques.


-Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Maintain clear documentation on system architecture, incident response procedures, and service health metrics. Share knowledge within the team to foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

Required Skills

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in an SRE role or similar position.
  • Strong experience in deploying, managing, and monitoring Azure Cloud environments, particularly with data management tools.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Cosmos DB, and related data technologies.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices (e.g., Terraform, Azure Resource Manager, or Azure Bicep).

Skills:

  • Proficient with Azure monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights).
  • Strong experience in building CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps or Jenkins.
  • Solid understanding of containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless computing (Azure Functions).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with DevOps and Agile methodologies.
