Java Software Engineer - Global Securities firm

Randstad is partnered with a global Securities firm in their search for an experienced Java software engineer with passion for application development. Through this role you will have the opportunity to work in an international team of engineers and contribute to the development of various systems. 

Responsibilities
- Analysis, design and development of new integration projects
- Producing detailed functional and design specifications
- Participating in full delivery lifecycle (e.g. planning, testing phases)
- Liaising with users from all areas and with other IT teams
- Adhering to development standards and procedures, including change control
- Dealing with day-to-day production problems and maintenance when required.
- Operate in an agile development environment.

Must-have

• Experience with Java based containers (e.g. JBoss) and relevant tech stacks (e.g. JMS, Spring, Hibernate)
• Strong UNIX skills in particular Linux
• Strong database skills, both relational (Sybase , SQL Server, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g. MongoDB)
• Good knowledge of source control such as Subversion, and Git
• Experience of using JUnit and jMock
• Experience in defining and implementing web services (REST paradigm) and data services (e.g. OData)

Good-to-have

• Experience of working with XML based technologies such as XSLT, JAXB
• Experience in implementing vendor proprietary real-time connectors using JCA
• Experience of Git, Maven and Atlassian ALM/SDLC tools (Jira, Bamboo , BitBucket, Confluence)
• Experience with ESB platforms (e.g. Fuse ESB, Camel or similar)
• Experience in implementing Web UI with Java back end (e.g. using Vaadin) and/or JS (e.g. Angular, React etc.)
