Job Description

On this journey we´re all collaborating to create the best omni customer offer for our customers and as a Construction Project Manager you will be a key player in making this happen. 
This role is part of the Construction & Facilities (C&F) department supporting all Brands within the H&M Group in the sales market for Singapore and Malaysia. 
As a Construction Project Manager you will lead, manage, and organize construction projects across the H&M portfolio from inception to handover/opening with a high level of professionalism and according to company policies, routines, standards and local legislation. As well as having a sustainable approach and a strong business mindset.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare projects from inception, including site surveys, value engineering, and risk assessment, while securing investment budgets and project timelines.
  • Strengthen internal routines and communication between departments to ensure smooth project planning and execution, and drive the design coordination, procurement, and logistics.
  • Follow up on the construction process to meet deadlines and quality standards, and mitigate financial and branding risks by securing necessary permits with consultants and authorities.
  • Build long-term partnerships with suppliers, consultants, and contractors, ensuring financial transparency through cost follow-up and tendering processes.
  • Optimize planning and follow-up tools, driving improvement actions, and sharing learnings and best practices with colleagues.

What you need to succeed:

  • Previous working experience in Retail Fit-out, Construction, Facility Management, or Real Estate, with a degree in Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, or a similar field. 
  • Experience in managing external suppliers, following up on contractual obligations, and working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of technical installations (HVAC, Fire Safety systems, electrical installations, etc.), procurement, Health & Safety, and implementing brand design guidelines on-site.
  • Relevant certificates in project management, with advanced proficiency in Japanese and English (reading, speaking, and writing).
  • Be flexible to travel frequently.

Additional information

This is a permanent position on a local contract based at our Support Office in Japan. You will report to the Construction and Facilities Manager of Northeast Asia.

Travel & project management tasks will be focused on Japan but not limited to it.
