Job Description

The DCEO (Data Center Engineering & Operations) department is actively recruiting facility engineers and technicians. This position is responsible for ensuring the stable operation of power and cooling facilities that support Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centers. As a member of the DCEO team, you will work in facilities that house IT equipment such as servers and networks, contributing to the continuous operation of customer applications and websites 24/7, playing a vital role in supporting societal infrastructure.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and management of mechanical and electrical equipment within data center facilities.
  • Respond to equipment failures to minimize customer downtime.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues related to equipment failures, maintenance, or expansions.
  • Install and remove equipment used in data centers.

A Day in the Life:

  • You will work in various areas within the data center, including offices, server rooms, air conditioning rooms, and electrical rooms, moving around and collaborating with other members in shifts to ensure the continuous 24/7 operation of cloud computing services for customers.
  • Monitor and control the mechanical and electrical equipment in the data center.
  • Develop plans and make thorough preparations to ensure maintenance work is carried out safely and smoothly.
  • Manage vendors providing maintenance services for equipment.
  • Collaborate with teams responsible for installing and removing servers, hardware equipment, and other parts and consumables used in the data center.
  • Work to reduce operational costs while driving innovation in the facility.

Location: Data centers located in Kanto area (Tokyo, Chiba and Kanagawa) or Osaka. (The recruiter will inform you of the approximate commuting time from the nearest station before the interview.)

Required Skills

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of work experience and a basic understanding of facilities, electrical, mechanical, fire protection, control systems, or other related equipment.
  • Ability to work non-standard hours, including 12-hour shifts (with a 2-hour break) and a 4-days-on, 3-days-off schedule. Standard working hours are from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM, 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, or 9:00 PM to 9:00 AM.
  • Ability to safely lift and move equipment weighing approximately 18 kg using assistance devices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Practical experience in electrical or mechanical engineering, manufacturing, the maritime industry, oil and gas, alternative energy, nuclear power, or telecommunications.
