The Tsukuba Laboratory is part of the EBU global network of laboratories situated in multiple manufacturing and engineering locations across Asia and US. The Tsukuba Laboratory supports the product and analytical test requirements of all business units within Littelfuse: Electronics, Automotive and Industrial. While most test requirements come from the local customers within Japan, the Laboratory may be required to support global product and analytical test requirements as the need arise.

The Senior Test Engineer is the resident expert in terms of characterizing and testing circuit protection products. The primary responsibility includes test equipment set-up, software development, hardware-software integration, test execution, documentation and communicating results with internal and external customers.  The individual reports to the Laboratory Manager and the position is in Tsukuba, Japan.

弊社筑波事業所のラボラトリーは、アジア、米国にある複数の開発、製造拠点に設置されているグローバル組織の一部です。ラボラトリーは、エレクトロニクス、自動車、工業製品用の弊社製品を評価・分析する機能を有しています。現在、ラボラトリーで行う製品テスト自体は、日本国内の顧客からの依頼がほとんどですが、今後、必要があれば、国外の顧客、拠点からの要請に応じることも検討しています。

テストエンジニアは、回路保護製品の特性評価とテストに関する専門家として、主にテスト機器のセットアップ、ソフトウェア開発、ハードウェアとソフトウェアの統合、テストの実行、文書化、社内外の顧客への結果報告を行います。筑波事業所ラボラトリーを管理しているラボラトリーマネージャーにレポートします。

About the Job

  1. 20%:Supports Engineering and Sales in terms of Applications and customer-driven tests that leads to design wins and increased revenue
    アプリケーションと顧客主導のテストについて、技術部、営業部をサポートし、デザインウィン、売上増に貢献する
  2. 20%:Develops required test setups and executes needed tests
    テストのセットアップ、必要なテストを実行する
  3. 20%:Communicates test results to internal and external customers
    テスト結果を社内外の顧客に説明する
  4. 15%:Improves test procedures using hardware and software tools such as VEE, LabWindows, Visual Basic, and others to speed-up testing or data collection and analysis
    VEE、LabWindows、Visual Basicその他ハードウェア、ソフトウェアのツールを使用して、テスト手順を改善し、テスト、データ収集、分析を高速化する
  5. 15%:Develops and acquires new characterization methods to improve accuracy, efficiency and quality of data needed
    正確性、効率性、および必要なデータの精度を向上させるため、新しい特性評価方法を開発、採用する
  6. 10%:Identifies and recommends new lab equipment, new tools, and procedure improvements to the Laboratory Manager

Recommends appropriate designs, materials and techniques to affect specified sequence of technical tasks. Conducts experimental tests, evaluates results and suggests changes as needed. Required Skills

  1. 電気工学または同等のエリアにて学士号以上を持っている
  2. エレクトロニクスまたは半導体業界でテストエンジニアとしての経験が7 年以上あること
  3. 製造現場またはラボラトリーでのテスト機器の設計と組み立ての経験があること
  4. ヒューズ、PTC、電気機械デバイス、半導体など、さまざまなデバイスのテスト経験があれば尚可
  5. 日本語と英語での優れた口頭および書面によるコミュニケーション能力
  6. コースワークまたは実務経験によって実証されたビジュアル言語 (VEE、LabWindows、Visual Basic、Visual C、C/C++ など)での確かなプログラミングスキル
  7. アナログ/デジタル エレクトロニクス、回路保護デバイス、および個別半導体に関する確かな理解
  8. GPIB または PC 経由のテスト機器制御に関する基礎知識
  9. 変化の激しい環境で、独立して、またはチームメンバーとして十分に業務を遂行できる能力
  10. 既存のツールまたは新しいツールを活用して、複雑な問題を効率的に処理できる能力

 

  1. MS or BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  2. 7+ years of experience in Test Engineering in electronics and/or semiconductor industry with experience in design and assembly of test equipment in a production or laboratory.
  3. Ideally experienced in testing a wide variety of devices such as fuses, PTC, electromechanical devices, semiconductors and others.
  4. Good oral and written communication skills in the local as well as English languages.
  5. Solid programming skills in a visual language (such as VEE, LabWindows, Visual Basic, Visual C, C/C++) demonstrated by coursework or practical experience.
  6. Solid understanding of analog/digital electronics, circuit protection devices, and discrete semiconductors.
  7. Basic knowledge of GPIB or test equipment control via PC.
  8. Ability to operate well independently or as a team member in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Able to handle complex problems efficiently by utilizing available or new tools.
