Senior Backend Engineer

A solid and well-known financial firm in Tokyo, Japan, is looking for a competent backend engineer (Golang) to assist in designing the most significant common data entities, create dependable and easy-to-use API microservices to provide data and offer a platform-wide effect to many product engineering teams.

The Role

As a senior backend engineer, you will create Golang microservices that expose business-critical data for the firm.

• You will actively develop database schemas, as well as data migration and reconciliation solutions that use numerous source databases.
• You will help design a data ecosystem that supports a variety of query patterns, RDBMS SQL queries, and pub/sub via Apache Kafka.
• You will assist client teams in navigating the integration process for the APIs they develop.

Your Skills

Must to have

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience in Golang & Experience with microservice development
• Experience with database design and modeling
• Experience developing against a modern RDBMS (MySQL, Postgres, RDS/Aurora, etc.)
• Experience in designing and deploying cloud infrastructure
• Conversational level of Japanese (N3+)
• Experience with backend development with Ruby on Rails or Ruby
• Experience with Kafka or other message broker technologies
• Experience with data engineering - ETL pipelines, data processing jobs, or database administration
