Job Description

Your role

The (Senior) Expert Construction PM is responsible for overseeing the construction of solar parks. This role involves a high level of coordination with internal and external stakeholders, including finance managers, project controllers, site managers and contractors. The Senior Expert ensures that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and meets all quality standards. This position requires a blend of office-based project management and on-site leadership.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and implementation of solar park construction projects while coordinating with project finance and project controlling to ensure financial viability and budget adherence.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all project-related inquiries, ensuring clear communication between all stakeholders. Maintain strong relationships with EPC contractors, subcontractors, and site managers to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Report project progress, challenges, and milestones to the project steering committee. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet all required quality standards.
  • Oversee the procurement process, including tendering and contract awarding to EPC contractors and subcontractors.
  • Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks and uncertainties. Develop contingency plans to address potential challenges and ensure project continuity.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental, health, and safety standards

Required Skills

Required skills and qualifications

・Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field an advantage.
・Professional certification in project management an advantage.
・Proven experience in construction project management of more than 5 years, specifically in solar park projects.
・Strong understanding of EPC contracts and subcontractor management.
・Knowledge of project finance and budget management.
・Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in the construction industry.
・ Japanese & English on business level
・MS Office Knowledge
・Ability to motivate and guide their project team towards achieving project goals
・Capable of facilitating clear and open communication among all project stakeholders
・Identify problems quickly and develop effective solutions
・Team player who values and fosters collaboration within the team and with other stakeholders

What we offer

・Work place: Tokyo office and project sites
・Salary Range: Yearly salary for expert grade 7 – 9,5 mio. JPY, for a senior expert grade 9 – 12 mio. JPY
・Bonus: For a Senior Expert up to 10% of yearly salary
