- Perform high quality research including but not limited to the online retrieval of financial information, company fundamentals, and market data using secondary databases, open sources and academics
- Interact directly with investment bankers and other counterparts, through phone and email, to gain clarity on research projects
- Understand research needs and objectives of clients and conceptualize solutions to fulfil these requirements
- Ensure and take ownership of timely and high-quality deliverables for clients
- Learn and follow all research Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) accurately
- Assist in preparing manuals and training modules for the team
- Partner with the wider research team to generate ideas and share information to facilitate effective searches
- Ensure clear and consistent communication channels with clients and the team are followed
- Ensure the consistency and quality of final deliverables to the client

Required Skills
- 1-4 years of experience in investment banking or equity research firm
- Bachelors in finance or similar degree (preferred)
- Technical know-how in MS Office Suite, specifically advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of databases like Refinitiv Eikon, Factset, Factiva, Merger Market, Perfect Information, Datastream, Euromonitor, BoardEx, and Moody’s, as well as any related Excel plugins
- Communication and analytical skills; both written and verbal in English and Japanese
- Ability to state messages in a clear manner by using language that is easy for others to understand
- Solve complex problems through critical thinking and by applying appropriate solutions learned through experience and proficiency in understanding the requirements
