Data Center Shared Engineer (Tokyo)

Duties will include, but not limited to:

• Request management – process tickets as per agreed service levels of the client.
  • Including proper hand over of the assigned responsibilities during leave or absence
• Coordinate and provide both scheduled and unscheduled troubleshooting support.
  • Including occasional 24/7 dispatch managed within the team
  • Including occasional domestic business trips
• Install, move, add, and change server and other hardware in data center according to request from the client (e.g. break/fix, smart hands, decommissioning).
• Physical network support and cable management (e.g. cable construction work, power management)
• Escorting vendors and visitors inside the data center.
• Manage backup tapes and media operation.
• Capacity management and forecasting (e.g. space, power, cooling, ports).
• Site logistics support (e.g. receiving, relocation, shipping and disposal of equipment).
• Asset and stock management (e.g. tracking the inventory of spare parts, cables, kits).
• Contribute to project and program activities as necessary.
  • Including involvement in a project work stream as required
• Document and maintain updated processes/manuals.
• Comply and enforce internal policies, processes and standards.

• 2+ years of hands on experience as an IT infrastructure engineer (server, network, IT asset management, etc.).
• Experience working for a data center or equivalent (i.e. server room) is required.
• Cisco certifications (CCNA or CCT) are referred.
