“Ganjuu” is an Okinawan word meaning “Good, well, strong, healthy”. This psychology-led service aims to support the wellbeing of the whole OIST community, which includes graduate students, staffs, and their families. The following services are provided:
The current Director of the service, a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, is stepping down from this position and we are looking for a new Director to lead the University wellbeing service. The successful applicant will be joining an established team with English and bilingual Clinical Psychologists and counsellors. Managerially you will report directly to the Director of Community Services who overseas the running of a range of community services.
Responsibilities:
OIST is seeking to recruit an experienced licensed / registered Clinical Psychologist to lead the Ganjuu Wellbeing Service. The post provides real scope and opportunity to help develop the service as the University continues to grow, applying psychological knowledge and understanding to meet the needs of the OIST community.
Main Duties:
The successful applicant will be expected to provide professional and clinical leadership within the service and lead and or support a range of wellbeing initiatives across the university.
They will provide clinical and management supervision to other clinicians within the team. They will lead on service governance procedures to maintain a safe and effective service and ensure the highest standards of clinical and information governance.
They will work closely with managers and other stakeholders within OIST to support wellbeing, community and inclusion and will be expected to contribute to a range of organizational wide initiatives.
In consultation with team members and other’s stakeholders they will be expected to continue to develop the service to best meet the wellbeing needs of the OIST community.
This is a clinical role and they will provide evidence based psychological interventions for graduate students, staff and their families (including children), who present with a wide range of clinical and / or wellbeing issues; contribute to the development of support networks and provide psychologically informed workshops that support the overall wellbeing of the OIST community; provide advice and consultation on wellbeing and interpersonal matters. There is an expectation to work at an individual, couple/family, group, and organizational level.

チームメンバーや関係者と相談しながらOISTコミュニティのウェルビーイングのニーズに応えるべく、サービスを発展させていくことが期待されます。
また、OISTコミュニティ全体のウェルビーイングをサポートするため、サポートネットワークの構築に貢献し、心理学的な情報に基づいたワークショップを提供し、ウェルビーイングや対人関係に関するアドバイスやコンサルテーションを提供します。個人、夫婦・家族、グループ、組織レベルでの活動が期待されます。
