Job Description Summary

We are looking for a Sustainability Project Consultant to oversee engineering initiatives utilizing renewable energy resources. The project manager will place strategies and goals for the projects, create a timeline for the work, verify the project is executed within the allocated budget, and manage the effort of the stakeholders within the project team.

The energy and sustainability project consultant will implement new technologies, find cost reduction opportunities, manage initiatives, and engage with cross-functional teams regarding topics associated with energy consumption saving, energy-related capital projects, renewable energy, carbon emissions and critical environments.

The project manager is responsible for delivering and validating energy, carbon and cost reductions across our client’s real estate portfolio and must communicate past, present and future energy plans and performance through presentations to facility stakeholders.

 

Job Description

  • Serve as the lead liaison to the client throughout the development and installation phases, in order to satisfy their requests
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret complex construction documents, reports and drawings.
  • Work with facilities representatives to commission and re-commission new equipment. Assist clients with defining project scope, request bids and awarding contracts. Direct and manage the development and execution of comprehensive capital improvement projects toward energy use reduction.
  • Lead a project team to investigate, develop, and implement energy and carbon related projects (such as solar PV, energy storage, LED lighting retrofits, HVAC, BMS, water fixture and meter retrofits, and electrification)
  • Understand the system architecture of HVAC and Renewable Systems in order to identify project requirements (structural, electrical, mechanical requirements)
  • Manage sustainability and LEED projects for both existing buildings and new construction projects.
  • Manage corporate sustainability and reporting projects for portfolio level clients
  • Independently manage multiple sustainability projects simultaneously
  • Interact with clients and project teams to drive projects forward

General Requirements

Minimum Experience Level Over 3 years
Career Level Mid Career
Minimum English Level Business Level (Amount Used: English usage about 75%)
Minimum Japanese Level Native
Minimum Education Level Bachelor's Degree
Visa Status Permission to work in Japan required

Required Skills

Education and Experience

  • Degree in engineering or building-related field (i.e.architecture, building science, etc.)
  • Understanding of HVAC and/or mechanical building systems
  • Experience in CASBEE, LEED BD+C, ID+C and/or EB-OM projects preferred

Skills

  • Degree in engineering or building-related field (ie. architecture, building science, etc.)
  • 1-3 years experience managing LEED/CASBEE projects with no oversight
  • Experience with LEED-AP in BD+C, +C and EB-OM
  • Experience managing a minimum of 3 LEED projects from start to certification
  • Ability to work independently and require minimal guidance
  • Excellent logic and deduction skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • PDF editing
  • Standard Microsoft software packages
  • AutoCAD knowledge preferred
  • English (Preferred) OR Chinese
    • Writing Fluent
    • Reading Fluent
    • Speaking Fluent is a bonus
