Accounting and compliance
- Ensure that recording of transactions are performed timely and accurately in accordance with group accounting policies and relevant accounting standards.
- Where external accounting service providers are involved, review accounts and deliverables from the service providers.
- Ensure the uploading of relevant financial data prepared by service providers are performed timely and accurately into the group accounting system.
- Ensure group’s policies and procedures in relation to financial processes are complied with.
Consolidation and reporting
- Make necessary GAAP conversion adjustments to present financials in IFRS and perform consolidation of Japan group.
- Ensure that local statutory financial and tax requirements are met for all Japan entities.
- Prepare the annual financial statements for audit and support requirements of external auditors of RSS1 group and subsidiaries companies subjected to audit.
Financial controls
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to manage financial risks. Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Perform close monitoring of costs incurred by the entities of the Group, including ensuring that budgets are not exceeded and authorised appropriately in line with group policies.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting function to increase efficiency and accuracy.

- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field. Local or internationally. recognised professional certifications such as JICPA, ACCA, ICAEW would be preferred.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, audit and control role.
- Business level proficiency with both Japanese and English required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically, with the ability to adapt to business needs and priorities.
- Previous experience in real estate industry advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and with external partners.
- Ability to influence and engage with finance and non-finance stakeholders within and outside of Japan.
