Legal Counsel - Global Pharmaceutical

This is an exciting new role in the legal team of a major global pharmaceutical company. Working for the global headquarters, you will focus on handling global and domestic transactions, advise business teams and oversee junior colleagues.

The main responsibilities are:

• Negotiate, draft and review contracts and agreements in Japanese and English for domestic and overseas business units
• Advise on a range of legal matters including corporate M&A, litigation, licensing agreements, as well as compliance
• Work closely with business teams to identify and mitigate legal risk, while allowing the company to take advantage of commercial opportunities 
• Mentor and support junior colleagues

Requirements for this role are:

• Solid legal educational background with attorney qualification in Japan or commonwealth jurisdictions an advantage
• 6 years + experience in corporate law gained at a major law firm or a reputable company
• Comfortable handling contracts and agreements in Japanese and English
• Experience with cross-border legal matters a distinct advantage
• Excellent communication skills in Japanese and English
