The management goals of Nippon Paper Papylia (“Papylia”) are 1)to be a company that helps solve problems, as a member of the Nippon Paper Group, together with many customers in Japan and overseas, thus recognized as a reliable partner well into the future, 2)to be acknowledged as a company making a high degree of social contribution through its products and manufacturing technology, and 3)to be a company where all group employees enjoy working with pride.
One of the things Papylia values is “human resources”. For that reason, we will especially focus on the education and utilization of young employees and female employees, an example of which is to dispatch young people overseas or provide women with opportunities to work on the factory floor. Although it may take time to introduce satisfactory measures, I would like to try even new ways to develop younger generations who can lead and solidify the future of Papylia.
Today we are facing many challenges. In particular, the global warming problem as the most pressing issues is urging companies to shift to “sustainability management.” While such transition Papylia has declared to aim for may require years to complete, we are keen to move up each necessary steps towards the goal as soon as possible. At Papylia, we will make full use of the many technologies and achievements that utilize natural resources, which are the strengths of the Nippon Paper Group, to drive the construction of a recycling-oriented society head-on. Now that some of our products are expected to play a role as substitutes for plastic products and petroleum-based resin materials, not only the R&D division, but the entire company will work vigorously to solve social and other problems.
More than 100 years after our founding, Papylia will continue to take on challenges to develop innovative businesses that meet the needs of the times and society with our motto “revolution and creation” in mind.
