We, S.Ishimitsu & Co., Ltd., have been working over 100 years since the foundation, with particular devotion to “food” and caring the mind of contribution to the world through “food”.
Firstly, we started the business in the land of Los Angeles, delivering nostalgic Japanese food to Japanese people, who had moved to live in the United States. Thereafter, we transferred the company base to Japan, dedicated in propagation of coffee, which was still rare that time and engaged in creation of new food culture. The life with coffee combined with diversification of eating habits developed the food service industry and we grew from simple coffee specialized trading company to the supplier of foods for commercial use. More recently, our business of conveying Japanese food culture to the overseas is also growing.
Consumers’ needs for “food” and the social environment surrounding “food” are changing every day and seconds. However, no matter the world is, we strongly wish to continue being a company that supports the happiness of consumers through “food”.
We wish to get closer even a little to what we want to be. We wish to be a shining presence in the food industry. With those thoughts in mind, we have started the Medium-Term Management Plan, named SHINE2024. The theme is “Building a foundation for getting closer to the ideal state in 2030”. Over the next three years, we will promote initiatives to further improve our engagement and enhance our human resource capabilities. We will create new business that attend the carbon-free society and will be also improving the level of our governance.
In order to remain as an unchanged presence even after 200 years, we will continue changing.
