This company was established in April 1970 as a consultant in the unique field of Japanese aviation and airport technology. Our focus has been the survey, planning and design associated with the construction of new domestic airports, as well as foreign airports as part of Japan’s ODA program. We are proud of the contributions we have made to the dramatic growth of aviation technology both in Japan and abroad over the last fifty years.
More recently, factors such as the appearance of low-cost airlines have created an ever-expanding demand for aviation development. In order to accommodate the 60 million yearly visitors that the Japanese government seeks to attract by 2030, we have kicked off a massive revitalization campaign, including the improvement of smaller local airports as well as expansion of Tokyo Metropolitan airports such as Narita and Haneda. At the same time, there are challenges that must be considered, such as the response to natural disasters like earthquakes, storm surge and tsunamis, and how to combat the airport labor shortage that has been a result of the declining national birthrate.
On the administrative front, beginning with Kansai International Airport, we have been able to take full advantage of the benefits offered by the private sector through adoption of the concessions system.
In this way, the field of airport is undergoing a great transformation, and ourselves with it. Rest assured that we will continue to provide service that our customers trust and value, and work to further society by continually refining technologies to meet modern needs through airport planning and development.
